Indian companies have been on an acquisition spree in the last few years, in an attempt to become global market players. Some of the acquisitions like the Tata-Corus or the JLR deal have been truly massive. In lieu of this fact, a number of questions definitely arise.
Did the Indian companies identify the targets keeping in mind a strategic fit? Did the companies end up paying a hefty price for the acquisition? Have the acquisitions translated into economic performance for the Indian companies?
